Maya Katabi is a Syrian pianist and music theory instructor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. With over eight years of experience, she specializes in piano performance, harmony, counterpoint, solfege, and music analysis.

Maya has taught at leading institutions, including the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus and academies in the UAE, providing structured instruction in classical piano, aural training, and international exam preparation (ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool). Her approach integrates European classical traditions, Eastern European music theory, and jazz harmony, ensuring a well-rounded musical education.

As a performer, Maya has appeared as a soloist and ensemble pianist in concerts at venues such as the Damascus Opera House. Her commitment to music education extends beyond technical training—she fosters artistic growth and critical listening skills, creating an engaging learning environment for students of all levels.

Now based in Dubai, Maya continues to refine her teaching methodologies, combining rigor with creativity to inspire the next generation of musicians.
