Lindsey Marns

Lindsay Marns started playing the recorder at the age of 5, before quickly graduating to the piano aged 6 and then the trumpet at the age of 7. Gaining a scholarship to Trinity College of Music, London aged 11, (where she continued her studies until 18), Lindsay performed her first concerto at 15, performed numerous times in the Royal Albert and Festival Halls in London and went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama after winning a Countess of Munster Award for further study.
As a freelance musician, Lindsay has performed all over the United Kingdom, and has performed alongside many renowned trumpeters. She has played for a wide variety of groups, including brass ensembles, orchestras, swing and big bands and for musical theatre productions.
Since moving to Cornwall in October 2024, she has quickly made a name for herself as a trumpeter, most notably as a piccolo trumpet player, performing ‘the trumpet shall sound’ from The Messiah as the soloist around the county.
Alongside performing, Lindsay has been a teacher for many years. Initially teaching brass, piano and singing privately to students aged 7 to adults, as a mother of two, she then became a qualified teacher, and worked for a leading Surrey private school, teaching music to students aged 5 to 18.
During her teaching career, Lindsay has coached and conducted a variety of choirs and ensembles of various sizes and abilities and has enjoyed inspiring youngsters through her own passion and love of music.
