Alex Preston
Alex is a vastly experienced musician and teacher. Since making music his career after leaving college in 2009, he’s performed in various acts throughout the UK and internationally. Along this journey he has always strived to pass on his passion for instrumental excellence and love for creativity and the arts, and has taught privately and in schools, helping students from 6 to 60 years old achieve their goals.
Alex’s background comes from a wide variety of musical influences. He’s a classically trained double bass player, and has performed with his Home Counties Youth Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, London. He’s also an electric bass player and has worked with a variety of tribute bands, cover bands, and musical theatre productions that have travelled the whole of the UK and had residencies abroad; a highlight being with Forever Jackson (Michael Jackson tribute show) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Alex specialises in being a band leader, able to assist every part of a contemporary ensemble. Inspiring the next generation of musicians is really important to Alex. Helping students on their journey; whether they’re right at the beginning, studying for grades, or aspiring to make music their profession, Alex really hopes to guide them, on what can be, a wonderful path.
