Sebastian Lee

Sebastian Lee started playing violin at the age of 6 on instruments made by his grandfather and at 13 years old he switched to learning the viola. In 2006 he began his studies with soloist Rivka Golani at Birmingham Conservatoire and Trinity Laban before moving to Gothenburg to study with Per Högberg. 


In Sweden he was a member of the Swedish National Orchestra Academy and worked frequently with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. As a freelance musician he has performed all over the world including tours of China, South Korea and much of Europe with various ensembles. In London, he was an active orchestral, session and stage musician.


As a teacher, Sebastian worked closely in the Music in Secondary Schools Trust programme set up by Andrew Lloyd Webber to provide instrumental lessons to all school students between the ages of 11-14 in selected schools in London. 


In 2019 he moved to Oman to coach students in the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Orchestra before moving to China in 2021 to teach at Wycombe Abbey International School Changzhou. 

 

Throughout his teaching career he has coached chamber music ensembles and directed orchestras of various sizes and abilities.
