The CMA Young Musician Competition is a celebration of performance and musicianship at all levels, which encourages commitment and rewards excellence. Participants gain invaluable performance experience and benefit from feedback from a team of experienced adjudicators.

There are two rounds to the competition; the Class Heats (early rounds), followed by four Level Awards. The Class Heats are open to all ages and abilities and are as inclusive as possible because we believe that music is for everyone and it’s never too early to start performing. All entrants will receive written feedback from a respected adjudicator and a certificate of participation. The top performance from each Class Heat will be awarded a gold medal, and a silver highly commended medal is also available where numbers deem it appropriate. The gold medalists will progress to compete for the overall Level Award.

The Level Award competitions take place before a panel of judges, and the winners perform in our Grand Final Showcase, taking home the CMA Young Musician Trophy. Note that the competition is open to CMA students only.

The CMA Young Musician Competition takes place at JESS Jumeirah Primary school on Thursdays and Fridays 18th and 19th, and 25th and 26th January 2018.
