Ms. Mariola  Sokolowska

Mariola Sokolowska, a Polish pianist is  well sought after both as a soloist and as a pedagogue. She was the unanimous recipient of the Frederick Chopin Scholarship Award for two consecutive years beginning in 1983. She graduated from Elsner School of Music in Warsaw in 1985. In 1992 she completed her studies and graduated with Master of Arts degree from Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland. Subsequently, Ms.Sokolowska was appointed an accompanist for the academy's vocal and instrumental departments. She has participated in numerous workshops and masterclasses. Most notably, in Franz Schubert Interpretation Workshop in 1985 in Weimar, Germany as well as in Victor Merzhanov Warsaw masterclasses in 1984 and 1986.

Her performance credits include appearances with Sudety Philharmonic Orchestra, Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, music festivals such as Bastat Music Fesival in Sweden and Wratislawia Cantans Music Festival in Poland. She also accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the Europe and Middle East. Ms. Sokolowska was also featured many times on Polish TV and radio in collaboration with critically acclaimed New York double bassist Pawel Knapik. Ms. Sokolowska recording debut in 1996 featured double bass music. The two CD set consisted of works by S. Rachmaninov, P. Hindemith, R. Gliere, G. Bottesini and D. van Goens.

The career of pianist Mariola Sokolowska took a major turn, when in1997 she moved to the United Arab Emirates. Resident of Dubai, Ms. Sokolowska is currently on a piano faculty of Dubai Centre for Musical Arts . Her concert schedule includes performances with solo violinist Bartosz Bryla and upcoming concerts with other affiliate musicians.
