Jeff Arthur

Profile Picture - Jeff Arthur

Jeff joins the Centre for Musical Arts from Melbourne Australia with over 30 years as a professional musician and music educator. He began his studies with classical guitar before venturing into Rock and Jazz styles. Jeff has extensive learning experiences attending workshops at Melbourne College of the Arts conducted by renowned Australian classical guitarist John Williams and the Melbourne State College with American Jazz educator Jamey Aebersold. His musical passion is improvisation with emphasis on Jazz styles and has had private lessons from Jazz greats Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, Charlie Bird and John Scofield.  His performance experience is vast from band work playing all styles of contemporary music to professional musicals and most recently in the Jersey Boys Melbourne production and tours Europe every year playing at Jazz Festivals and Clubs with his Jazz Band.

In Australia Jeff taught for many years at 2 private schools Xavier College boys school and Ruyton Girls School preparing students for Trinity and Rock School classical and contemporary exams and has arrived to Dubai from China with his wife Katherine who teachers Visual Arts at GEMS World Academy after 3 years teaching at 3 International Schools where he covered musical concerts and conducted School bands for Musicals and collaborated with the Arts department on original School productions.
Jeff loves sharing his knowledge and provides a fun environment for learning mixing both classical and contemporary styles.
